Back (Erector Spinae)

For beginner

Mountain View

The Erector Spinae is a group of muscles the run along the length of the spine. They are responsible for lateral bending and rotation of the trunk or spine. As a whole they also help in extending the spine. Activities that may cause pain to this area are straining to lift something heavy, and movements that combine both bending and twisting of the torso. Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time can irritate these muscles even more when they are inflamed. GoTape acts in this case as almost an extra layer of muscle over top of the erector spinae and helps provide similar tension almost like a back up player in a sporting event would help a tired, overworked athlete. Other treatments of Erector Spinae pain include: using a heating pad, icing, NSAIDS, seeing a Chiropractor or Physical Therapist, proper stretching, strengthening the back, and of course always maintaining good posture.
