General Shoulder

Mountain View

The shoulder joint is a ball and socket socket joint which allows the shoulder to move in a variety of different ways. However, this is not always a good thing, as these types of joints tend to be more susceptible to injury. Shoulder pain can be caused by: strains and tendonitis from overuse, joint instability, dislocation, frozen shoulder, pinched nerves, and everyday wear and tear of the joint. Often times before Go Tape athletes would wear bulky shoulder braces which would interfere with proper movement during sports and physical activity.  Gotape stretches and moves with the athletes/patients while still providing a high level of support and stability.  It is always best to consult with a doctor to rule out any major injuries or damage to the shoulder, but other treatments of shoulder pain include: rest from any aggravating activities, icing or using a heating pad, NSAIDS, and seeing a Physical Therapist who can do manual therapies to the affected area as well as prescribe exercises to help strengthen the joint and surrounding musculature.
